Spinal Manipulation and Manipulation Under Anesthesia
When it comes to back pain, some of the most effective chiropractic treatment is spinal manipulation. At Impact Medical Group, we also offer spinal manipulation treatment under anesthesia (MUA) for when traditional spinal manipulation just isn’t cutting it. With MUA, we can treat more difficult back or joint pain without invasive surgical procedures. Instead, the patient is lightly sedated in order to allow for our expert chiropractors to stretch and work the area without irritating existing scar tissue or causing painful muscle spasms.
We also recommend Manipulation Under Anesthesia to help treat:
- Chronic Neck Pain
- Long-Term Lower Back Pain
- Chronic Back Pain
- Knee Stiffness After a Surgical Procedure
- Frozen Shoulder
Regardless of the reason for your MUA procedure, it is important for patients to know and understand that the three weeks after you undergo sedated manipulation are crucial to MUA success. Our knowledgeable doctors will prescribe an intensive stretching regimen to help strengthen the muscles around the affected joint. This rehab program will likely involve:
- Stretching
- Flexibility
- Strengthening Exercises
- Periodic Adjustments as Required
If you would like to see if you are a suitable candidate for MUA, or if you’d like more information about the procedure, please contact your preferred Impact Medical Group location.
