April 7th Is World Health Day – Why It Matters To Us

World Health Day, which is observed on April 7th this year, aims to promote healthy lifestyle choices and increase public awareness of global health challenges. Due to the increasing concerns for public health that we have experienced since the pandemic, this day has never been more important.

Today, we are reflecting on why World Health Day matters to our entire team at Impact Medical Wesley Chapel and what the means for you as our patient.

My Health, My Right

Each year the World Health Organization (WHO) chooses a theme to focus on for World Health Day, and this year, the theme is “My Health, My Right.”

This is especially serious as the right to healthcare is under threat for many people and cultures around the world. Disease and natural disasters across the globe cause thousands of deaths, injuries, and disabilities, while military conflicts are causing pain, death, hunger, and mental distress.

Believe it or not, more than half of the world’s population—we’re talking half of 4.5 billion people—are not fully covered by essential health services. That number is devastating.

That’s why this year’s theme, “My Health, My Right,” was chosen. It is meant to champion the right of everyone to have access to health services, safe drinking water, clean air, healthy foods, safe housing, appropriate working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination for any reason.

We can’t think of a better cause to support!

Prioritizing Wellbeing

At our accident care clinic in Wesley Chapel, we often see firsthand the impact that accidents can have on our patient’s health and quality of life. Through our specialized treatments such as self-pay chiropractic care, physical therapy, manual therapy, injury trauma counseling, and pain management, we can help foster recovery and restore mobility in those who are injured.

It is a privilege to live in a country where quality healthcare services are easily accessible and available to everyone. As you can imagine, time is of the essence when someone has been in a car accident, which is why being able to visit one of our Impact Medical Group clinics, spread across Tampa Bay, is so important.

Our team is dedicated to addressing not only the symptoms of an injury but also the underlying issues that could affect our patients’ overall well-being. We offer personalized care plans that are tailored to each patient and are here to help with every step of the recovery process.

Your Health Rights

It is important to take advantage of the healthcare that you have access to and understand what rights you have about your health.

Remember, you have the right to:

  • Safe and quality care
  • No discrimination
  • Privacy about your health information
  • Access to information about your treatment
  • Informed consent
  • Bodily autonomy

At Impact Medical Wesley Chapel, we take these rights very seriously and treat every patient with the respect that they deserve.
